AMT - Advanced Materials Technology / HALO

HALO

HALO® is a series of (U)HPLC columns based on the core-shell (FusedCore™) technology. The manufacturer of these columns is Advanced Materials Technology™ (AMT), whose founders was outstanding pioneers from the field of high-performance liquid chromatography. AMT is the genuine developer and producer of of packing materials with FusedCore™ technology. The silica-based stationary phases consist of a non-porous core and an porous outer layer, that provides fast separations without excessive backpressure. HALO® columns are available in different particle sizes: 2 μm (core: 1.2 μm), 2.7 μm (core: 1.7 μm), 3.4 μm (only HALO® Protein columns, core: 3.0 μm) and 4.6 μm (core: 3.3 μm) and with  various modifications that cover a wide selectivity range. HALO® Bioclass columns have been specially designed for the separation of biomolecules such as proteins, peptides or glycans. HALO® Enviroclass columns are designed for environmental analysis.

Applications

HALO® Biphenyl

The HALO® Biphenyl is ready for the challenge of complex samples. Both polar and non-polar pesticides are well resolved with this commonly used test for cannabis.

ADVANTAGES OF THE NEW HALO® BIPHENYL

  • Improved retention, high sensitivity and higher efficiency without sacrificing robustness or reproducibility
  • Increased selectivity for challenging polar compounds
  • High efficiency leading to sharply resolved peaks with excellent peak shapes

Isomer match

Tocopherols, a form of vitamin E known for its antioxidant properties, contain many isomers that can be easily separated in the baseline on the HALO® C30 compared to a C18 phase due to the phase's shape selectivity.
