Code of Conduct

Preamble

All employees of MZ-Analysentechnik GmbH are bound by the regulations of this Code of Conduct. It describes the values, principles and requirements for itself and its suppliers with regard to their responsibility for people and the environment. The aim of the company management is to comply with ethical standards and to create a working environment that promotes integrity, respect and fair behaviour. The rules are based on the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, also known as the "Global Compact".

Compliance with laws and other regulations at home and abroad

In all business decisions and actions, MZ-Analysentechnik GmbH endeavours to comply with the applicable laws and other relevant regulations in Germany and abroad. Business partners are to be treated fairly. Contracts are honoured, taking into account changes in the framework conditions.

Commitment of the company management

MZ-Analysentechnik GmbH considers it its duty to act in an economically, socially and environmentally responsible manner. MZ-Analysentechnik GmbH endeavours to conduct its business competently and ethically and to protect fair competition in all markets in which it operates by complying with applicable laws. Unfair advantages over customers, suppliers or competitors are to be avoided. Furthermore, the intellectual property rights of others must be respected.

Human rights

We strictly reject all forms of forced and child labour. The use of legitimate training programmes in the workplace that comply with all laws and regulations is supported. Employees have the freedom to terminate their employment relationship with reasonable notice.
Discrimination against employees in any form is prohibited. This applies to discrimination based on gender, race, caste, skin colour, disability, trade union membership, political conviction, origin, religion, age, pregnancy or sexual orientation, for example.
Unacceptable treatment of employees, such as psychological hardship, sexual and personal harassment or discrimination, is not to be tolerated. Behaviour (including gestures, language and physical contact) that is sexual, coercive, threatening, abusive or exploitative shall not be tolerated. Appropriate remuneration must be ensured and the statutory national minimum wage must be guaranteed and the maximum working hours stipulated by law in the respective country must be observed.
Employees can communicate openly with the company management about working conditions without having to fear reprisals in any form whatsoever. They have the right to freedom of association and collective bargaining. 
MZ-Analysentechnik GmbH guarantees occupational health and safety in the workplace at least within the framework of national regulations and supports continuous further development to improve the working environment. Risks are minimised and the best possible precautionary measures against accidents and occupational illnesses are taken. We train employees to ensure that all employees are knowledgeable about occupational safety.
As a socially responsible employer, MZ-Analysentechnik GmbH considers its employees to be of great value. The personnel policy of MZ-Analysentechnik GmbH contributes to offering every employee the opportunity for professional and personal development. Open exchange of opinions, criticism and ideas are encouraged.

Environmental standards

MZ-Analysentechnik GmbH is committed to complying with all relevant laws for the production of chemical products and analytical instruments as well as regulations and other requirements relating to occupational safety, health and environmental protection, while endeavouring to minimise environmental pollution and continuously improve environmental protection, particularly in accordance with the precautionary principle.Waste of all kinds, including water and energy, shall be reduced or eliminated at source or through practices such as modification of production, maintenance and plant processes, materials handling, conservation, recycling and reuse of materials.
Chemical and other substances that pose a risk if released into the environment shall be identified and stored to ensure their safe handling, movement, storage, use, recycling or reuse and disposal.

 

Business ethics

The highest level of integrity is expected in all business activities and relationships. Any form of corruption, bribery, extortion, money laundering and embezzlement is strictly prohibited. MZ-Analysentechnik GmbH also sees it as its duty to restrict the procurement of resources to achieve the company's success to areas that are not civil war zones or known for serious violations of human rights.
employees must not be influenced by the acceptance of favours; they are also not permitted to influence others through favours.

Confidentiality and data protection

Much of the business information of MZ-Analysentechnik GmbH is confidential or legally protected, so that there is a duty of confidentiality. This does not apply if publication of the information has been authorised by MZ-Analysentechnik GmbH or is mandatory due to laws or regulations. 
The confidentiality obligation relates in particular to intellectual property. This includes business secrets, business and marketing plans, drafts, business papers, salary data and all other unpublished financial data and reports.
All personal information about employees, customers, business partners and suppliers as well as other third parties is used carefully and treated confidentially at MZ-Analysentechnik GmbH in full compliance with data protection laws. The protection of this information must be fulfilled with the utmost care.

Implementation and monitoring

The rules contained in this Code of Conduct form a core component of the corporate culture of MZ-Analysentechnik GmbH. Uniform compliance with these principles is essential. Every employee is responsible for this.
If an employee has concerns or complaints about the points set out in this Code of Conduct or has knowledge of a possible breach of the behavioural guidelines contained herein, they should immediately bring this to the attention of their line manager for clarification. This can also be done anonymously or in a confidential manner. MZ-Analysentechnik GmbH does not permit reprisals on the basis of complaints made in good faith within the framework of this Code of Conduct.

Information, communication and supply chain

MZ-Analysentechnik GmbH undertakes to work towards ensuring that the company and each individual employee complies with the principles of the Code of Conduct, in particular by designing and, if necessary, adapting guidelines and processes. The contents are communicated within and outside the company in an appropriate manner. The Code of Conduct sets out the principles of non-discrimination in the selection of suppliers and in dealings with suppliers.
