Newcrom
Newcrom columns are a new type of mixed-mode columns. These columns have a long alkyl chain on the silica surface. At the end of this chain ion-exchange groups are located. This allows a high mobility of the ion-exchange groups in the pores and eliminates chelating effects with multi-charged analytes. Furthermore, the alkyl chains also interact with the hydrophobic parts of the analyte.
