RAM Semi-Permeable Surface

Restricted Access Media (RAM) from Regis Technologies comprise a series of materials that enable the separation of small analytes even in the presence of large molecules. By using these phases, many complex separation and purification steps can simply be skipped, thus saving time and money. The technology on which this is based is known as a semi-permeable surface (SPS). It is an outer layer of polyethylene glycol that can only be penetrated by small molecules. Under this layer is the inner modification (C18, C8 or phenyl), which ensures the retention of the analytes. This means that large (bio)molecules are eluted directly and small molecules are separated according to their interaction with the inner modification.
