Multi-tier Plates
The Multi-Tier Plate™ system is a reusable polymer system that complies to ANSI standards but uses glass vials. The MTP can be used for conical or flat bottomed vials from 0.5 to 2.5ml and can be sealed using individual caps, strips or cap mats. It is an ideal solution for users that need to use glass vials for sample or solvent compatibility, but need the convenience of a 96 well plate format.
The vials of both systems are held in place between a base plate and a top cover to ensure stability when used with vortex of shaking mixers.

- Borosilicate-Glass - Excellent chemical and thermal resistance
- Polypropylene - High-purity and flexible to use
Available base-plate versions:
1. ABS
- Good chemical resistance against acids and bases
- Heat resistant up to 80°C
2. COC (cyclic olefin copolymer)
- Good chemical resistance
- Autoclavable up to 150 °C
- Good clarity down to 300nm
The ABS / COC system consists of a base plate, top cover and different numbers of spacer plates depending on the volume of the vial to be used. The number needed depends on the height of each vial. 0.5 mL vials need the base plate only, 1.0 mL vials needs one spacer, 1.5 mL needs two, 2.0 mL needs three and 2.5 mL needs four spacers.
3. Aluminium
- High heat and chemical resistance
- Efficient heat transfer maintains an even temperature across all wells
- For high temperature applications up to 300 °C
The Aluminium plates use a base plate and top plate with the distance between them set according the vial volume by specifically measured screws.

- 96 well format using a range of borosilicate glass and PP vials with conical or flat bottoms
- ANSI standard size for use with lab robotics and microplate equipment e.g. blowdown evaporators
- High temperature compatible 96 well format
- Vials available loose or in a vial load system to make rapid vial changes
- The vented bottom enables use in a water bath, allowing flow of water around all vials
- Suitable seal mats are available in a number of materials and formats including pre-slit, and contain a built in O-ring to seal the vials, prevent evaporation and cross contamination
- Both systems can be used with reduced number of vials if needed.
