Porvair / Evaporators

Evaporators

Evaporators are used for drying and concentrating samples. Porvair's evaporators can be combined with various well plates, enabling fast and reproducible evaporation of solvents. The nitrogen used for drying can also be heated to accelerate evaporation. By introducing the nitrogen into all wells at the same time, they are concentrated simultaneously.

Porvair evaporators are available in different versions. The Minivap is suitable for small laboratories and research facilities and is operated manually. However, there are also robotics-ready automatic evaporators such as the Ultravap Levante or Ultravap Mistral. This means that these evaporators can also be used in automation or for processing large quantities of different well plates.

Technical Data

Ultravap Mini (Minivap)

Front view of the Ultravap Minivap Evaporator from Porvair

The Ultravap Mini (Minivap) is operated manually. The needle depth, flow rate and temperature can be set manually. This evaporator is suitable for laboratories with a low throughput.

  • Simple manual operation
  • maximum temperature 60 °C
  • maximum flow rate 90 l/min
  • compatible with ANSI/SLAS standard microplates or vial holders
  • 12, 24, 48, 96 and 384 needle heads available
  • straight or spiral needles available
  • W/D/H: 240/370/385 mm

Ultravap Gemini

The Ultravap Gemini is a manual evaporator that offers space for two plates or racks at the same time. This means that the throughput can be doubled compared to the Ultravap Mini. The needle heads of the two positions can be exchanged independently of each other. This enables simultaneous vaporisation in different formats. The temperature and flow rate can also be controlled independently of each other, allowing different samples to be vaporised at the same time.

  • Capacity for two plates or racks
  • avoids exchange of heads
  • maximum temperature 60 °C
  • maximum flow rate 90 L/min
  • individual gas and temperature setting for each plate
  • compatible with ANSI/SLAS standard microplates or vial holders
  • 12, 24, 48, 96 and 384 needle heads available
  • W/D/H: 380/370/385 mm

Ultravap Levante

Front view of the Ultravap Levante evaporator from Porvair

The Ultravap Levante is robot compatible and has an RS232 connection and a remote command set. This allows it to be integrated into an automatic liquid handling station. In addition, up to five different methods can be programmed and stored to ensure a reproducible and automatic process. Three gradients can be set within these methods and the temperature and gas flow can also be flexibly selected.

  • Reproducible vaporisation thanks to five programmable methods
  • Three programmable gradients per method
  • ideal for sensitive samples: only the surface of the sample is heated
  • maximum temperature 80 °C
  • maximum flow 90 L/min
  • compatible with ANSI/SLAS standard microplates or vial holders
  • 12, 24, 48, 96 and 384 needle heads available
  • W/D/H: 195/440/400 mm

Ultravap Mistral

The Ultravap Mistral is specially designed for use with liquid handling robots. The master/slave principle enables the connection of several Ultravap Mistral units, whereby methods from the master unit are transferred to the slave units. This enables centrally controlled method programming. The Ultravap Mistral can store up to 15 different methods, each of which can be programmed with up to five gradients. The temperature and gas flow can also be programmed flexibly.

  • Reproducible vaporisation thanks to 15 programmable methods
  • Easy to automate
  • ideal for sensitive samples: only the surface of the sample is heated
  • maximum temperature 80 °C
  • maximum flow 90 L/min
  • compatible with ANSI/SLAS standard microplates or vial holders
  • 12, 24, 48, 96 and 384 needle heads available
  • W/D/H: 195/440/400 mm

Ultravap Mistral XT150

Front view of the Ultravap Mistral XT150 evaporator from Porvair

The Ultravap Mistral XT150 has the same advantages as the Ultravap Mistral. Up to 15 different methods can be programmed, each with up to five different gradients. The master/slave principle is also available here. The decisive difference to the Ultravap Mistral is the maximum sample height. While the Ultravap Mistral can vaporise samples up to 50 mm in height, the Ultravap Mistral XT is suitable for samples up to 150 mm in height.

  • Reproducible vaporisation thanks to 15 programmable methods
  • automation-friendly
  • ideal for sensitive samples: only the surface of the sample is heated
  • maximum temperature 80 °C
  • maximum flow 90 L/min
  • compatible with ANSI/SLAS standard microplates or vial holders
  • 12, 24, 48, 96 and 384 needle heads available
  • compatible with samples up to 150mm in height
  • W/D/H: 195/440/735 mm
