Ghost-Sniper
Ghost-Sniper columns from Chromasir is a powerful tool for eliminating ghost peaks that occur during chromatographic separation, especially in gradient mode. These peaks can cause quantitative problems if they overlap with the peaks of interest. The column improves the efficiency and accuracy of analyses, reduces experimental costs and is available in different sizes for HPLC and UHPLC. It provides protection against contamination and improves the chromatogram.

Installation
The Ghost-Sniper column is installed in the system between the mixer and the injector. The sample should not run through this column!
Precautions
- If the batch analysis is performed in an HPLC system, it is recommended to increase the additional equalisation time for about 5 min - 10 min in your chromatographic conditions to account for the influence of the volume of the Ghost-Sniper column.
- New columns should be rinsed with 100% acetonitrile at a flow rate of 0.5 ml/min for 4 hours before use.
- Ion pair reagents in the mobile phase may be absorbed by the ghost-sniper column, which may affect the retention time and peak shape of your target. Please use the mobile phase with caution.
- The lifetime of the column depends on the analytical conditions, such as the mobile phase, the purity of the solvent and the contamination of the device. Please replace the ghost-sniper column regularly to ensure performance.
- It is recommended to replace the ghost sniper column when the separation effect deteriorates or the requirements cannot be met.
- As the purification part of the liquid chromatograph, the ghost-sniper column can filter solid particles and eliminate organic impurities before the injector. The ghost sniper column provides better protection for the equipment and the chromatographic column and perfects the chromatogram.
- If the mobile phase contains buffer salts, it should be rinsed with 10% organic phase solution (10% methanol or acetonitrile) before and after use to prevent buffer salts from leaking and blocking the column.
- Please note that not all ghost peaks can be detected by the Ghost Sniper column.
- If the column remains unused for a longer period of time, it is recommended to store it in an organic aqueous solution (70% methanol or acetonitrile). Please rinse the column with 100% acetonitrile at a flow rate of 0.5 ml/min for 1 hour before using it.
