Inertsil

Inertsil™ (U)HPLC columns from GL-Sciences are particularly inert and reliable columns for reproducible and highly efficient analyses. Inertsil™ phases have proven themselves over many years and are now used for a wide range of applications all over the world. Thanks to many years of Inertsil production and continuous improvement, these columns have achieved a very high reputation throughout the world. These columns show a high batch-to-batch reproducibility and the selectivity remains unchanged for years. This means that sophisticated methods can be reliably reproduced over a long period of time.

Inertsil® ODS-4: is highly inert ODS column as well as InertSustain C18. However, as the base Silica gel and carbon load are different, their selectivities show some differences according to the characteristics of the analytes. Inertsil® ODS-4 was developed as a more inert alternative to Inertsil® ODS-3 by applying upgraded deactivating techniques.

Inertsil® ODS-3: is ideally modified with Octadecyl groups and endcapped. It provides stronger hydrophobic interactions than other ODS columns and retain a variety of compounds. Among many ODS columns available on the market, Inertsil ODS-3 has been very popular for its versatility ever since it was introduced.

Inertsil® ODS-2: is an older, but still popular octadecyl phase with 150Å pore size for general applications.

Inertsil® ODS: is the first ODS column introduced as “Inertsil Series” to serve as a versatile column.

Inertsil® ODS-80A: Is an octadecyl phase with 80 Å pore size for the analysis of small molecules.

Inertsil® ODS-P: has polymerically bonded Octadecyl groups (C18) to Silica gel. As the Silica surface is densely covered with C18, Inertsil ODS-P shows shape selectivity along with general characteristics of ODS columns.

Inertsil® ODS-SP: Inertsil ODS-SP is an ODS column modified to have Octadecyl group(C18) less densely than Inertsil ODS-3. Therefore Inertsil ODS-SP is able to elute hydrophobic compounds faster than Inertsil ODS-3.

Inertsil® ODS-EP: Inertsil ODS-EP contains a polar group embedded between the silica surface and Octadecyl group (C18). As the embedded polar groups provide hydrogen bonding, Inertsil ODS-EP has different retentivity and selectivity compared to pure-alkyl-C18 bonded phase.

Inertsil® ODS-HL: is a highly inert octadecyl-modified phase with high carbon loading and strong retention properties.

Inertsil® WP300 C18: is a C18 modified phase with 300 Å pore size for the analysis of large molecules, such as proteins or peptides.

Inertsil® Peptides C18: is an ODS column designed for Peptide mapping. Each lot is attatched with its analytical data of standard peptides. For analysis of proteins and peptides of 5000 or higher molecular weight, Inertsil® WP300 phases are recommended.

Inertsil® Sulfa C18: Are special ODS phases specifically developed for the analysis of sulfonamides used in medicine (sulfa drugs).

Inertsil® C8-4: Is an octyl modified phase with weaker retention than Inertsil® C8-3.

Inertsil® C8-3: Is a highly inert octyl phase that offers the same separation pattern as Inertsil® ODS-3, with reduced retention times. but with reduced retention time. Compared to other C8 columns the retentivitiy of Inertsil® C8-3 is relatively strong.

Inertsil® C8: is an inert and durable octyl columns for the rapid analysis of hydrophobic compounds.

Inertsil® WP300 C8: is a C8-modified phase with 300 Å pore size for the analysis of proteins and peptides.

Inertsil® C4: Is an inert and durable butyl phase with even shorter retention times than C8 phases.

Inertsil® WP300 C4: is a Butyl group bonded phase utilizing Silica gel with wide pores (300Å). Also, an optimal polar group is embedded between Silica surface and Butyl group, which reduces adsorption of basic compounds and hydrophobic proteins. Inertsil WP300 C4 is recommended for analyses of large, very hydrophobic proteins and peptides.

Inertsil® Ph-3: is a phenyl-bonded phase provides π-π interactions occuring between Phenyl groups and analytes. Inertsil® Ph-3 has Phenyl groups directly bonded to Silica gel whereas common phenyl columns have Phenylalkyl groups bonded to Silica gel. Therefore, compared with common phenyl columns, the separation by Inertsil® Ph-3 is based more strongly on π-π interactions.

Inertsil® Ph: has phenylethyl groups bonded to Silica gel which offers weak π-π interactions. Phenylethyl group is a common functional group used for convetional Phenyl columns. Therefore Inertsil® Ph has similar selectivity to other commercially available Ph columns on the market.

Inertsil® CN-3: is a Silica-based column modified with Cyanopropyl groups. The columns offer unique selectivity, long column operating lifetime, and excellent peak shapes in both reversed phase mode and normal phase mode.

Inertsil® NH2: has Aminopropyl groups bonded to Silica gel. Generally Amino columns, including Inertsil NH2, are widely used for analysing sugar in reversed phase mode. Inertsil NH2 is also available in normal phase mode (e.g. analysis of vitamin E) and shows unique selectivity.

Inertsil® Diol: has characteristics of dihydroxypropyl group bonded phase. It shows unique selectivity in both normal phase mode and reversed phase mode. Inertsil® Diol is also available for Size Exclusion Chromatography to separate compounds according to their size.

Inertsil® WP300 Diol: has dihydroxypropyl group bonded to Silica gel with pore size 300Å and is capable of analysing large molecules. Like Inertsil® Diol, Inertsil® WP300 Diol can be used for both Aqueous SEC (Size Exclusion Chromatography) and Organic SEC. Also, as a diol column, Inertsil® WP300 Diol can be used in both normal phase and reversed phase mode.

Inertsil® HILIC: is designed for Hydrophilic Interaction Chromatography (HILIC) and has Dihydroxypropyl groups bonded to Silica gel.

Inertsil® Amide: developed for Hydrophilic Interaction Chromatography (HILIC), has Carbamoyl groups bonded to Silica gel.

Inertsil® AX: Inertsil AX has diethylamino groups bonded to Silica gel by an alkyl chain. The diethylamino groups offer anionic functions required for the anion exchange chromatography. It is mainly used for analyses of acidic compounds.

Inertsil® CX: has Benzenesulfonyl groups bonded to Silica gel by an alkyl chain. The Sulfony groups at the end of the structure offer cationic functions required for the cation exchange chromatography. It is mainly used for analyses of basic compounds.

Inertsil® SIL-100A: is a pure Silica gel column available in normal phase mode. Because of the high quality of its Silica gel, Inertsil SIL-100A achievs separation with sharp peaks and provides high column-to-column reproducibility. This Silica gel is the basis for “Inertsil® 3-series” of GL-Sciences.

Inertsil® SIL-150A: is ultra pure Silica gel column and is available in normal phase mode.

Inertsil® WP300 SIL: Inertsil® WP300 SIL is pure Silica gel phase with wide pores(300Å). It is available for analysing compounds including large molecules. Also, as the surface are is smaller, Inertsil® WP300 SIL elutes analytes faster than narrow-pore pure Silica gel columns.
