Membrane proteins are proteins that are associated with a cell membrane or membranes of cell compartments. Transmembrane proteins permeate the cell membrane completely, whereas membrane proteins are only attached to one side of the lipid bilayer.

These are reversed phase chromatography, hydrophilic and hydrophobic interaction chromatography (HILIC or HIC), ion exchange chromatography (IEX), size exclusion chromatography (SEC) and affinity chromatography (AFC)
