Agilent Technologies / Agilent-HP

Agilent-HP

HP is a brand name for GC columns from Agilent Technologies ™. The columns cover a very wide range of polarity and application and are very inert. All HP phases, except HP-88, HP-101, and HP-17, are bonded, cross-linked and solvent rinsable.

  • Excellent general purpose column for a wide range of applications
  • Superior performance for low molecular weight alcohols (<C5)

HP-1ms:

  • Non-Polar, general purpose column
  • Identical selectivity to HP-1
  • Low bleed, ideal for GC/MS

HP-5:

  • Non-Polar, general purpose column
  • Wide range of applications

HP-5ms:

  • Non-Polar column, with very low bleed characteristics, ideal for GC/MS
  • Identical selectivity to HP-5
  • Excellent inertness for active compounds including acidic and basic compounds

HP-35:

  • Mid polarity column
  • Inert to active solutes
  • Ideal for confirmational analyses

HP-50+:

  • Mid polarity column
  • Excellent for confirmational analyses

HP-INNOWax:

  • High polarity column with high upper temperature limit
  • Column-to-column reproducibility

HP-FFAP:

  • Nitroterephthalic acid modified polyethylene glycol
  • Polar phase for the analysis of volatile fatty acids and phenols

HP-PONA:

  • Configured for the analysis of petroleum process products
  • Tested to ensure the resolution of m-xylene from p-xylene and of cyclopentane from 2,3-dimethylbutane

HP-1 Aluminium Clad:

  • Aluminum clad fused silica tubing
  • For high temperature simulated distillation

HP-PAS5:

  • Non-Polar phase for the analysis of organochlorine pesticides
  • ECD tested to ensure minimal pesticide breakdown and low ECD bleed

HP-5ms Semivolatile:

  • Non-Polar phase with very low bleed characteristics, ideal for GC/MS
  • Identical selectivity to HP-5
  • Specifically tested for inertness for active compounds including acidic and basic compounds

HP-VOC:

  • Low Polarity column
  • Selectivity engineered for US EPA Methods 502.2, 524.2 and 8260

HP-88:

  • High-Polar phase for separation of cis-trans fatty acid methyl esters (FAMEs)
  • Because HP-88 is not bonded or cross-linked, do NOT solvent rinsing

HP-Chiral β:

  • β-Cyclodextrin in (35%-Phenyl)-methylpolysiloxane
  • Chiral separations without chiral-specific derivatization
  • Phenyl-based polymer provides low bleed and does not interfere with nitrogen-specific detectors
  • Available in two concentrations of β-cyclodextrin: 10% and 20%
  • 20% β-cyclodextrin best choice for initial screening

HP-Fast Residual Solvent:

  • Equivalent to USP Phase G43
  • Thinner film reduces run time by 2.5 times and increases Minimum Detection Limit (MDL) by 2 times compared to standard film thickness used for this method

HP-PLOT Q:

  • Bonded polystyrene-divinylbenzene based column
  • Polarity between Porapak-Q and Porapak-N
  • Excellent column for C1-C3 isomers and alkanes to C12, CO2, methane, air/CO, oxygenated compounds, sulfur compounds and solvents
  • Replaces packed gas-solid columns
  • Separates ethane, ethylene and ethyne (acetylene)

HP-PLOT U:

  • Bonded divinylbenzene/ethylene glycol dimethacrylate
  • More polar than HP-PLOT Q
  • Excellent column for C1-C7 hydrocarbons, CO2, methane, air/CO, water, oxygenates, amines, solvents, alcohols, ketones, and aldehydes

HP-PLOT Al2O3 KCl:

  • Least "polar" alumina phase (deactivated with KCl)
  • For light hydrocarbon analysis – C1 - C8 hydrocarbon isomers
  • Low retention of olefins relative to comparable paraffin
  • Excellent for quantitation of dienes, especially propadiene and butadiene from ethylene and propylene streams
  • Recommended phase for many ASTM methods

HP-PLOT Al2O3 S:

  • Middle range of "polarity" for alumina phases
  • Aluminum oxide deactivated with sodium sulfate
  • Excellent general use column for light hydrocarbon analysis – C1 - C8 hydrocarbon isomers
  • Best for resolving acetylene from butane and propylene from isobutane

HP-PLOT Al2O3 M:

  • Most "polar" alumina phase (with proprietary deactivation)
  • Good general use column for light hydrocarbon analysis – C1 - C8 hydrocarbon isomers
  • Good for resolving acetylene from butane and propylene from isobutane

HP-PLOT-Molesieve:

  • A PLOT column for the analysis of permanent gases
  • O2, N2, CO and CH4 resolve in less than 5 min
  • Durable molecular sieve 5Å coating minimizes baseline spiking and damage to multiport valves
  • Select a thick film for Ar/O2 separation without cryogenic cooling

HP-101:

  • 100% Dimethylpolysiloxane
  • Not bonded or cross-linked - NOT suitable for solvent rinsing
