Nouryon - Kromasil

Since October 2018 the famous Kromasil™ chromatographic silica is manufactured by the stand-alone company Nouryon™ in Sweden. The transition occured due to the acquisition of AkzoNobel Specialty Chemicals (former Eka Chemicals™) by The Carlyle Group. The whole manufacturing process is fully automated with multi-kilogram batch sizes ensuring optimum reproducibility.Kromasil chromatography silica is a spherical, totally porous silica-based media and offered within four different Kromasil families: Classic, Eternity, Chiral and SFC. The traditional silica gel Kromasil is now also available with particle sizes 1.7µm and 2.5µm for UHPLC. Kromasil Eternity offers longer column life times and operating in a wider pH-range from 1-12 by modified silica. The Kromasil chromatographic silica is available as bulk material for packing Dynamic-Axial Compression (DAC) Columns.

 

Additionally prepacked Kromasil analytical, semi-prep and preparative columns can be obtained. The ClassicShell columns are the newest member of the Kromasil family. With 2.5µm solid-core particles the ClassicShell columns are available with C8 and C18 derivatization, in 2.1 and 4.6mm internal diameter HPLC columns.

Attention! Kromasil shift its 21.2mm ID columns stepwise to 20mm ID. The change will be implemented item by item as the stock of the 21.2mm columns is depleted.
