Whelk-O 1
Whelk-O® 1 from Regis Technologies comprises a range of materials whose chiral selector is a phenanthrene derivative. This product range thus offers an alternative with different selectivity to polysaccharide phases, which can nevertheless be used for a large number of different compound classes. Further advantages of Whelk-O® 1 are its longevity, high compatibility with many mobile phases and high loading capacity. All chromatography columns are suitable for use in HPLC and SFC.
Standard Whelk-O® 1 material is available in the versions (S,S) and (R,R), which differ in the configuration of the chiral selector. Switching between these two versions inverts the elution sequence in the enantiomer separation.
The Whelk-O® 1 Core version refers to materials based on core-shell technology and consisting of an impermeable core with a porous coating. This enables fast separations with high efficiency without generating high back pressures.
